How to Display the Listeners for CA XCOM Data Transport for i5/OS (AS400)?

Environment

Release: CA XCOM Data Transport for i5/OS (AS400)

Component: XCAS4R

Resolution

Here are detailed instructions on how to display the IPv4 and IPv6 listeners for CA XCOM. To check if the AS/400 listeners are active, use:

For IPV4 Listeners

On the command line, type

NETSTAT followed by Enter

Select Option 3 - Work with IPv4 Connection Status

Press PF14 to search for 8044 or your port number

Here you can see the listeners are up on both 8044 and 8054.

For IPV6 Listeners

On the command line, type

NETSTAT followed by Enter

Select Option 6 - Work with IPv6 Connection Status

Press PF14 to search for 8044 or your port number

or if you have just checked IPv4 listeners, select PF12 to cancel, then PF20 and PF14.

NOTE: Do not use CFGTCP, option 21, option 1. That will list the equivalent of the /etc/services table which is not used on AS/400. AS/400 does not use a "inetd" facility, but their own listener.
