Issue/Introduction

Reports in IT Analytics (ITA) fail to load after a long delay and return an error similar to the following:

Unable to connect to the remote server
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it <hostname/IP:port>

The Report Server Settings in the console under Admin > Server shows the Data Source Authentication Type as 'Not Configured'.

Environment

Release : 2.9.1

Component : Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services

Cause

The SQL Server Reporting Services service on the server hosting SQL Server Reporting Services is stopped.

Resolution

Start the SQL Server Reporting Services service on the server hosting SQL Server Reporting Services by doing the following:

  1. Open SQL Server Configuration Manager
  2. Select SQL Server Services
  3. Right-click the SQL Server Reporting Services (<instance name>) service that is in a stopped state and select Start
