Issue/Introduction

Security Analytics storage array is reporting a DEGRADED DRIVE CHANNEL.

Resolution

The Drive Channels are related to the physical SAS cables that connect between the controller and the drive drawers.  If for some reason there is a large number of errors on the drawer or if one of the cables is potentially loose, the channel can degrade.  There are two channels connected to each drawer for redundancy reasons.  If one channel goes down, the other channel will still allow access to the storage array.

Because this can be caused by several different things, generate a support log bundle and open a case with technical support so that the logs can be analyzed correctly and next steps can be accurately prescribed.
