Require assistance installing google chrome extension on 2 e2e VMs due to error - Failed to load extension

Issue/Introduction

When trying to install google chrome extension.  Getting failed operation error when loading unpacked. as per procedure. Require assistance as it has worked in the past.

Customer tried it from another VM and it worked a couple weeks back but it would not work on the two VM’s they need to run the scripts on.

Failed to Load extension
Manifest file is missing or unreadable
Could not load manifest.

Environment

Release : 20.3

Component : UIM - E2E_APPMON

e2e_appmon v2.52

Chrome browser version 97.0.4692.71

Resolution

Tested/ran through the procedure internally within Broadcom Lab environment but did not encounter any issue on the step "Load unpacked". Not reproducible in the Broadcom Lab.

Customer copied the ext file from another VM where load of the extension in Chrome was working without issue, and this resolved the error/issue.
