Issue with Re-scan PII data

Issue/Introduction

We have a table with 10 PII columns and there is a classifier that has only 3 tags defined out of those 10 PII columns.

After scanning the table and confirming it, when a rescan PII data is done via data model section using the classifier that has all 10 PII tags defined, the scan results still show only previous 3 PII tags.

New classifier is not applied during re-scan.

Release : 4.9.1

Cause

This issue is happening because the first scan has been "confirmed" and it ignores any further PII scans on confirmed tables.

Resolution

Unconfirm the table that was confirmed previously and re- run the PII scan with different classifier. TDM picks up all applicable tags from the new classifer.
