Issue/Introduction

Trying to install Spectrum SDC for Trapx Support on a Rhel 8.5 Server. 

A Silent install fails with the error message:

#/mnt/install/software/spectrum/Spectrum_21.2.1/sdmc/linux/install.bin -i Silent -DUSER_INSTALL_DIR="/app/trapx"
Invocation of this Java Application has caused an InvocationTargetException. This application will now exit. (LAX)

Stack Trace:
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /tmp/install.dir.24042/Linux/resource/jre/lib/amd64/libawt_xawt.so: libXtst.so.6: 
Cannot open the shared object file: File or directory not found

Environment

Spectrum 21.2

 

Cause

64 bit library version was not installed.

Resolution

Install the x64-version of libawt_xawt.so and libXtst.so.6 libraries.
Then installation will go successful.

 

 

Additional Information

But it is recommended to use only certified OS versions.

SDC TrapX support Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0/8.1 on a 64-bit processor.

RedHat 8.5 is not yet certified.
