MICS Resource Management

Issue/Introduction

You are testing a SAS problem/error and need to understand with assurance about which SAS CONFIG settings member in sp.MICS.PARMS
is invoked with a MICF user reporting jobstream, either MABATCH, MATSO, ICFDMS, or ICFBATCH.

You need to be able to identify which of the various SAS CONFIG member(s) you need to alter, first with MICF user reporting jobstreams, then eventually
with MICF production reporting jobstreams (if the CONFIG member is different).

Environment

MICS Resource Management

Resolution

MICS job streams add to or override the SASCONFIG1-4 statements, using either sharedprefix.MICS.PARMS
members MABATCH, ICFBATCH, or MATSO.

  • MABATCH affects batch PROCS except MICSRPTS;
  • ICFBATCH affects MICF batch execution;
  • ICFDMS affects MSAS
  • MATSO affects the MICF foreground and MICF Production and User Reporting (the MICSRPTS PROC.)

Important
Any changes made to the MICS proc(s) should adhere to the Maintenance Policies and Procedures best practice.
Before making any changes to the PARMS members ensure that a backup copy if established.
