Issue/Introduction

One of our software developers says he's being disconnected regularly from roscoe when working from home (potentially with lower network bandwidth or latency).

Is there a parameter in application to manage connection (timeout...) ? Or do you think it can only be managed from systems/ network configuration?

Environment

Release : 6.0

Component : Roscoe Interactive Environment

Resolution

Suggest that you verify the following parameters:

AUTOFF - Controls the use of the automatic signoff facility.
AUTINTVL - Defines how long Advantage CA-Roscoe is to wait before rechecking for inactive terminals

AUTOFVAL - Sets the amount of time the terminal may be inactive before being automatically signed off.

Keep in mind that the Roscoe AUTOFF change cannot exceed the the specified time in the operating system. Look in SYS1.PARMLIB(SMFPRM00) for the maximum time set by the operating system.

Recommend yo change the AUTOFF time to a higher value and not exceed the system settings.
