How to change the password of a local computer account

Issue/Introduction

How can we change the password of a local account on many endpoints using ITMS?

Release: 8.6

 

Resolution

This can be accomplished using the Password Management task under Real-Time System Manager. 

A few caveats about this one.  When you create it and save it with the user account and password information, it won't display anything to you.  Meaning it will look like this:

Notice that you see the user account and the credentials of the account to use to change it.  Nothing else.  That is normal and it will work when you run it against a computer.

Another caveat is don't use .\Fred to represent the local account.  Just type in the account name without the domain preceding it.
