What is NCES assertions in the GW components?

From the Log4J article, it said "One of the few GW components containing log4j 1.2.17 are NCES assertions. If desired, you can remove this NCES assertions. On a side note, these NCES assertions will be removed in GW 10.1 CR1."

May I know what is the NCES assertions?

How Can I remove those assertions?

There are 2 NCES assertions, NcesDecoratorAssertion and NcesValidatorAssertion.

In those assertions NCES stands for Net-Centric Enterprise Services. It's a legacy project, never went into production.
