Issue/Introduction

Planning to apply windows updates on a server.

Please share the per-requisites and PoA / Guidelines  for this update

Cause

OS Patches are a type of code that is inserted (or patched) into the code of an existing software program. So if Spectrum is running which the patch is installed it may impact the product.

Resolution

Before applying OS patch,

Alarm Notifier Backup.

Shutdown SpectroSERVER & Spectrum Services.

If it is a VM then take a SnapShot of VM.

Then apply the OS patch.

Note :  It is recommended to test the same OS patch in your Test environment before applying on production.
