Errors trying to apply PTFs for the log4j vulnerability problem

GIM69010E ** AN ERROR OCCURRED IN RETRANSFORMATION OF HFS OPNIMSM ON THE SYSUT1 LIBRARY. DATA HAS BEEN LOST.  
GIM69011I    RETRANSFORMATION OF HFS OPNIMSM ON LIBRARY SYSUT1 WAS UNSUCCESSFUL FOR SYSMOD LU03970.           

Later in the SMP/E report:

LU03970  CCLXD51  GIM69010E     11   HFS OPNIMSM ON THE SYSUT1 LIBRARY COULD NOT BE RETRANSFORMED BECAUSE DATA WAS
                                     PREVIOUSLY LOST.                                                             

 

 

Environment

OPS/MVS R13.5 and potential other releases

Cause

The input file (SMPPTFIN) from where this PTF was received was not complete. Probably ran out of space during the upload process.

Resolution

The affected PTFs must be downloaded again making sure they are complete.

Then they must be rejected and received again before attempting a new apply.

NOTE:  Although this article concerns R13.5 specific information, similar type problems could occur with other releases.
