ESP Workload Automation

Issue/Introduction

The following message is seen in the ESP started task JESMSGLG:
09.30.16 SYSA JOB52526 *ESP7020W ESP ENCORE (SUBSYS=ESPM) 10,000 EXH * REQUESTS QUEUED

What caused this message, and what action needs to be taken?

Environment

Release : All
Component : ESP Workload Automation Restart Option

Resolution

There were many jobs that ran through Encore around the same time which caused the requests to queue up.

The warning message is not a concern if it stops showing after a short period of time.

Do the following to make sure there is no problem with Encore:

  • Issue "OPER ENCPARM STATUS" from the ESP Page mode,
  • Issue /F esp_stc,ENCPARM STATUS from the MVS console to verify that Encore is active
  • Run CYBRMSAN to ensure that the EXHFILE has no problem and has enough space.

You should see message ESP7021I when problem is resolved.

ESP ENCORE (SUBSYS=xxxx) EXH REQUEST QUEUE NOW OKAY
Reason:
The system previously issued message 7020W indicating a possible problem with WA Restart Option. The queue length has now fallen below 80% of the threshold value.
