Need to reset and/or delete non-Sharable IN-EDIT Endevor packages

Issue/Introduction

Received request to delete some very old IN-EDIT packages from Package Control File from development staff. Many of these packages are non-sharable and created by long gone developers.   Some of these packages are associated to Approver Groups that have 1 approver in them and the USER is no longer with the company/. 

Is there a way to delete or reset these packages?

Resolution

Define a SUPER-USER in the ENCOPTBL:

* SUPER USER TABLE                                                    *
* ENDEVOR WILL LET USERIDS DEFINED AS "SUPERUSER" PERFORM ALL ACTIONS  
* AGAINST A PACKAGE EVEN IF THE PACKAGE IS NOT SHARABLE AND IF THAT    
* PACKAGE DOES NOT BELONG TO THE SUPERUSER. THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO      
* THIS IS THAT THE SUPERUSER CANNOT REVIEW (APPROVE/DENY) A PACKAGE    
* IF THEY ARE NOT AN APPROVER FOR THE PACKAGE.                         
*                                                                      
* IF NO SUPER-USERS HAVE BEEN CODED, THIS OPTION WILL NOT BE ACTIVATED.
* THE USER-IDS MUST BE SPECIFIC, WILDCARDS ARE NOT ALLOWED.

*        ENHOPTSU USER1                                                
*        ENHOPTSU (USER2,USER3)       

 

1)  Uncomment out one of the ENHOPTSU lines and put in the id of the user or users who will be Super Users.

 

2)   Assemble and link the updated ENCOPTBL Options table.
