How to delete large number of tasks from a project

Issue/Introduction

Accidently several hundred tasks were added to a project.

Some tasks are appropriate and have actual hours posted.

How can the additional tasks be deleted in bulk?

Environment

Release : 16..0 

Component : PPMPRM

Resolution

In the Gannt you can select all tasks to be deleted.

If you only want to delete tasks that have no assignments use the Assigned Resources field on the gantt and only select those without assigned resources.

If a task has actual hours posted, or pending actuals, these tasks will move under a summary task called Deleted Tasks.

There may be some tasks in here with no assignments, those too can be deleted.
