Issue/Introduction

Web Service Deployment in CA 2E is failing after installing the latest HTTP Group PTF Level 34, with the error message "IWS00230E - Install of Web service failed.".
Starting November 2021, if we load and apply any IWS PTFs, we will get deployment failures if we try to deploy or redeploy web services without having a Java 8 or higher JRE installed on the system. In addition, if the IWS server is configured to use Java 7, we will get a runtime failure.

Resolution

We need to carry out the following steps to ensure proper deployment of Web Services, after installing the latest HTTP Group PTF Level 34:

 a) Install Java 8 JRE (5770JV1 Option 17 - JDK 8.0 64bit)

 b) Set JRE for the IWS server is set to use the Java 8 runtime. The setting for JRE at our end is:

c) Ensure that PTFs SI77924 and SI76960 are installed on the system. That will update the script to check for the existence of Java 8.

After this, the deployment should go through successfully.
