Updating the Encryption Management Server mail proxy relay host does not take effect immediately

Issue/Introduction

The Encryption Management Server Mail Proxies configuration allows all outbound mail to be routed to a specific relay host. This configuration setting is in the administration console under Mail / Mail Proxies. For example, this shows all mail being relayed to the host mta.example.com:

If the relay hostname is updated, the Mail log under Reporting / Logs shows that this change does not take effect immediately.

Environment

Symantec Encryption Management Server releases 10.5, 10.5 MP1 and 10.5 MP2.

Resolution

Upgrade to release 10.5 MP3 or above.

Starting with release 10.5 MP3, any change to the relay host takes effect immediately.

To work around this issue in release 10.5, 10.5 MP1 or 10.5 MP2, restart services by navigating to System / General Settings and clicking on the Restart Services button.
