Issue/Introduction

When performing a content root enumeration scan we are not getting a list of shares enumerated.

We can find the servers, but a list of shares on the servers is not retrieved.

Environment

Release : 15.8

Component : Discover

Cause

a content root enumeration scan will use the credentials provided in your directory connection used when setting up the scan.

If the user account being used in the directory connection does not have access to the shares then they will not be retrieved.

 

Resolution

Create a directory connection utilizing an AD account that has full administrative access to anything that you may want to scan.

Use that directory connection to create the content enumeration scan.
