Issue/Introduction

The files are in the specified location (ie INSTALL_DIR=“C:\CA”) instead of the default “c:\program files\CA”.  However, 2 configuration files are hard-coded with the default location being

  1. %INSTALL_DIR%\SC\CASearchServer\Search\bin\java_home.txt
  2. %INSTALL_DIR%\SC\CASearchServer\service.bat

Environment

Release : 17.3

Resolution

  1. Define CA_ES_ROOT=%INSTALL_DIR%\SC\CASearchServer
  2. update at creation time the correct location of the Search Server JAVA_HOME being %INSTALL_DIR%\SC\JRE\11.0.3 in the java_home.txt file
  3. update the service.bat to use the install location of the JRE to use. change it to use the contents of the java_home.txt file much as the index building utilities do.
  4. Run the service install process (the same as detailed in the install log) being
    “%CA_ES_ROOT%\service.bat” “%CA_ES_ROOT%\elasticsearch-7.10.2\bin\elasticsearch-service.bat” install 11.0.3
  5. Go into the services.msc console and start the  “CA Service Management Search Server” service (which was created by the previous step).
  6. Run the “%CA_ES_ROOT%\search\bin\pdm_es_initial_load.bat” script (which failed at install time as the service was not running)
  7. Run the “%CA_ES_ROOT%\search\bin\pdm_es_build_index_metadata.bat” script (which failed at install time as the service was not running)
  8. Run the “%CA_ES_ROOT%\search\bin\pdm_es_rebuild_index.bat” script (which failed at install time as the service was not running)
  9. Restart xflow service so that it picks up the now running search server
