Issue/Introduction

I'd like to update the COMMANDS DD concatenation for a couple of reasons.

1. Some of the DSNs really should never have been coded in the RUNSYSIN member

2. My main TESTEXEC library is out of directory blocks so I'd  like to remove it so I can increase it,  then again put it back in.

I tried EXEC $DSCALL OPT=DECONCAT DD=COMMANDS to see what would happen and see "IKJ56861I  FILE COMMANDS NOT DECONCATENATED, DATA SET IS OPEN"

Knowing what COMMANDS is used for, it makes sense if it's not possible, but maybe there is process, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

We don't cycle very often at all and we have many environments where some of these DSNs are shared, so it's a bit slow and painful to cycle the regions.

Environment

Release : 12.2

Component : NetMaster Network Management for TCP/IP

Resolution

There is no way to update the COMMANDS DD dynamically.
The COMMANDS DD datasets are allocated very early on during initialization and the only way to make changes is to cycle the region.
