Upgrade is taking very long

Issue/Introduction

Upgrading Clarity and the install script has been running very slow - it has been close to 24 hours and the upgrade script is still running.

Environment

Release : Any

Component : Clarity Install and Upgrade

Resolution

Once the upgrade is already running and is slow, there are two options: 

1. Let the upgrade complete and wait

or

2. Restart the upgrade 

• Cancel, stop the upgrade, rollback the app
• Restore from db backup
• Add JVM to the upgrade process as per Speed up Clarity upgrade on Large Datasets
• Run database maintenance / statisticsIf DBA identified any indexes that can help you can create them (make sure you use Z_ as naming convention)
• Make sure you use the supported database parameters (i.e. for MSSQL Compatibility and for Oracle optimizer) or else it might be slow
• Start the upgrade again
