Issue/Introduction

We have encountered a situation where Provisioning Manager cannot connect to the Provisioning Server and would like to increase logging to investigate a Provisioning issue.    How can the Provisioning Server settings be Modified without Provisioning Manager?

Environment

Release : 14.X

Component : CA IDENTITY SUITE (VIRTUAL APPLIANCE)

Resolution

Provisioning Server configurations are stored within the Provisioning Directory.   You can access Provisioning Directory using an LDAP too, such as jxplorer.
Connection information:

Host: Hostname
Port: 20394
Protocol: LDAP v3
Base DN:
Level: User+ Password
User DN: eTDSAContainerName=DSAs,eTNamespaceName=CommonObjects,dc=etadb
Password: <Password>

To view or modify overall Provisioning Manager settings navigate to:
IM > CommonObjects > Configuration > Parameters

To alter the logging level open  Transaction log > Level and change the eTConfigParamValue to the value required. 3 is the default, 7 is the highest and what Support will usually request:

Ensure that IM > CommonObjects > Configuration > Parameters > Transaction log > Enable has eTConfigParamValue = yes

Once set these changes will take effect within 5 minutes. To immediately load these changes restart the Provisioning Server.
