Issue/Introduction

Jobtrac is continuously burning 4-6% of CPU even when there is no batch activity.
This is an abnormal behavior & has resulted in increased CPU consumption on Z14 processor.

Environment

Component : JOBTRAC R11.0
Processor: Z/14

Cause

We have GJTRJARC that runs an archive from Active to History on the JT CheckPoint DB.
Another job GJTRJPRG deletes events from History.
Both jobs were running in parallel which hung the GJTRJPRG process.
This maintenance process never completed and caused the unwanted CPU cycles.

Resolution

The SCL was modified to ensure these jobs were scheduled at different times in the day.
This has resolved the CPU usage problem.
