Issue/Introduction

A TYPE=SCHEDULE transfer is getting the following message:

XCOME0279E XCOM HISTORY FILE NOT OPEN ON UPDATE REQUEST

The XCOM server received the following messages:

4228I FILE XCOMHIST OPEN ERROR x'DC'(220) CAT=xxxxx   (OPNRP)-25 THE BUFFERS IN BLDVRP TOO SMALL OR CISIZE TOO LARGE

XCOME0294E XCOMHIST OPEN ERROR 00 DC - NOT LOGGING HISTORY

XCOME0455E XCOM HAS ENCOUNTERED A CRITICAL ERROR ON DATASET XCOMHIST

Environment

XCOM™ Data Transport® for z/VSE 3.1

Cause

A product called Hyperbuf, which is a VSAM optimizer, is converting the XCOMHIST to LSR.

Resolution

To resolve the problem, turn off Hyperbuf and keep existing XCOMHIST.

A VSAM optimizer called Hyperbuf was active on the system and that is converting the XCOMHIST to LSR. This caused the XCOM server to receive those messages.
