Issue/Introduction

Installed DevTest components in four different network segments like below:

  • Enterprise Dashboard and IAM in network1
  • VSE1 and VSCatalog1 in network2
  • VSE2 and VSCatalog2 in network3
  • VSE3 and VSCatalog3 in network4.

All DevTest ports are also open across networks.

Because the requirement is to display the virtual services of that specific VSE in VS Catalog.
However, all the VS Catalogs displays all the virtual services in VSE1, VSE2 and VSE3.

Are there any ways how to display the the virtual services of that specific VSE in VS Catalog?

Environment

Release : All currently supported.

Component : DevTest Virtual Service Catalog

Resolution

This is worked as designed. Because all the VS Catalogs(1, 2 and 3) will gather all the information of virtual services in all the VSEs which are connected to the Registry(registries) that has(have) the connection(s) to the Enterprise Dashboard in network1. Additionally, the virtual services list in VS Catalog cannot filter the virtual services which are based on deployed VSEs.

If the requirement is to display the virtual services of that specific VSE in VS Catalog, then the example of the effective configuration is like below:

  • IAM in network1
  • Enterprise Dashboard1, Registry1, VSE1 and VSCatalog1 in network2
  • Enterprise Dashboard2, Registry2, VSE2 and VSCatalog2 in network3
  • Enterprise Dashboard3, Registry3, VSE3 and VSCatalog3 in network4.
