Steps to backup the configurations & policies from the standby unit then import it to the New/RMA device.

Environment

Release : 11.10.x.x

Component : Packet Shaper S series

Cause

If RMA is done for a failed device and you need to restore the configuration from a stand-by or back-up device.

Resolution

Steps to follow:

1. Run 'setup capture' on the standby S200 device. This will save the config.cmd file as back-up.
Note: Avoid using 'setup capture complete' that will save the IP as well.
2. Copy the config.cmd file to the new PS.
3. Then run 'config reset' on new PS.
4. Finally go to the folder where you copied the config.cmd and do 'run config.cmd'.

This should restore all the back-up configuration from one standby device to another.
