Issue/Introduction

 

Running the new tape map utility CTSTMAP as a batch job sometimes fails with:

   +CA$F062E SVC 99 ERROR - DDNAME 'TAPE ' - ERROR CODE '0210' - REASON CODE '0000'

Cause

The above SVC 99 error occurs trying to run multiple tape maps at the same time.

The first tape map dynamically allocated DSN TAPEMAP.LABELS and all subsequent tape maps fail with SVC 99 ERROR CODE '0210', which means, that the requested data set is already in use.

For this reason, it is currently not possible to run several tape map jobs at the same time.

 

Resolution

Fixed in PTF RO47474 for Release 12.6.  This fix was included in Release 14.0.
