What are the special character supported in Spectrum installation

Issue/Introduction

We had some trouble with special characters in the password of the Spectrum installation owner when installing 20.2.7 (10.4.3.0) on Windows.

says "Please remove any special characters from the user's password, then restart the installation to resolve the issue."

But we saw that some special characters are ok for the installation owner but then may cause trouble with the Spectrum Remote Administration (SRA) software:

- # seems to cause trouble with the installation owner.
- ! seems to be ok for the installation owner but not for SRA.
- $ seems to be ok for both installations.

Not allowing special characters is not acceptable for security reasons.
But as we saw, at least $ is OK.

Please tell us the exact restrictions and which special characters are OK to use (besides $).

Resolution

For SRAdmin Sai123`[email protected]$%^&*()-_[]{}:;',.?  is found to be working in Windows GUI-based installation.

For Spectrum Install User [email protected]$&*',.?  is found to be working.
