Issue/Introduction

The 14.4.0 Platform 2 (Centos8) deployment starts with the following error recorded in the IM application server log:

2021-11-11 16:02:53,914 FATAL [org.apache.myfaces.shared_impl.webapp.webxml.WebXmlParser] (ServerService Thread Pool -- 108) SAXParseException at URI=http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd Line=1 Column=2: org.xml.sax.SAXParseExceptionpublicId: -//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN; systemId: http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd; lineNumber: 1; columnNumber: 2; The markup declarations contained or pointed to by the document type declaration must be well-formed.

 

Environment

Release : 14.4.0 Platform 2 (Centos 8) 

Component : CA IDENTITY SUITE (VIRTUAL APPLIANCE)

Cause

The initial 14.4 GA (General Availability) release included references to dtd files which necessitated internet access. As some customers may not have internet availability in the system, this needed to be changed.

 

Resolution

This issue was addressed by shipping the dtd and pointing the web.xml to a local file, these changes were merged into 14.4.1 and 14.4.0 Centos 8 branches (via patch HF-DE504857).
