Issue/Introduction

After changing the Agent service Logon from "Local System" to a "Service Account", the Agent status shows inactive under Agent Console.

The Agent's c2o.log shows:
2021-11-12 14:53:47,025 WARN  [com.optinuity.c2o.util.MirrorDomain] [        Timer-2] Renaming of file C:\Program Files\CA\PAM Agent\PAMAgent\.c2orepository\.c2oagentresources\lib\agentStartUP.jar_ to C:\Program Files\CA\PAM Agent\PAMAgent\.c2orepository\.c2oagentresources\lib\agentStartUP.jar failed
2021-11-12 14:53:47,025 WARN  [com.optinuity.c2o.util.MirrorDomain] [        Timer-2] Failed to synchronize file C:\Program Files\CA\PAM Agent\PAMAgent\.c2orepository\.c2oagentresources\lib\agentStartUP.jar

Environment

Release : 4.3.X

Component : Process Automation

Cause

Due to user's permission issue, the below temporary files are locked and not able to retain the actual file names:

  • agentStartUP.jar_
  • netx.jar_
  • log4j-1.2.15.jar_
  • wrapper.jar_

Resolution

  1. Stop the PAM Agent service.
  2. Remove the below temporary files from <PAM Installation path>\PAMAgent\.c2orepository\.c2oagentresources\lib :
            agentStartUP.jar_
            netx.jar_
            log4j-1.2.15.jar_
            wrapper.jar_
  3. Add the Service Account under Windows Administrators group.
  4. Start the Agent service with Logon as the Service Account.
