The "CONSNAME=" parameter in the Roscoe startup parameters supplies the console name to CA Roscoe. Roscoe checks it and verifies that it is a valid console with master authority. If this verification fails, then CA Roscoe will search for and use the first valid available console.
In Roscoe the STATUS SESSION command - field MASTER CON ==> will display the master console name defined to your Roscoe.
Changes had to be made to the way CA Roscoe handles the console when IBM made changes to single byte console. This may require you to make changes in the way your console is defined to CA Roscoe.
Troubleshooting steps:
CONSNAME=. I
f you are still having problems with the console, and no value is specified for this parameter, first try setting this parameter.CON CMD D C S
" and "CON CMD D C
" and send to check if/how you have your console set up. If you see the message: NO CONSOLES MEET SPECIFIED CRITERIA
at the end of the output, no master console is defined. If you can enter Console commands successfully, but no LOG or system replies are displayed, there is no physical console defined to the system and you will need to define a master console.
