SPC-NCM-20004: Write Startup Script Returned Error [252] Connection Error

Article ID: 228998

Updated On:

CA Spectrum

We recently disabled telnet and enabled ssh on our devices.

After doing this, we got the alarm STARTUP AND RUNNING CONFIGURATIONS ARE DIFFERENT, and when we try to write the startup configuration, we get the error message:

The communication mode on the Device Family was already set to SSH

How can we correct the correct the problem?

Release : 20.2

Component : Spectrum Applications

You need to review that the Write Startup Configuration Script defined for the device family is using SSH to write the running configuration.

1. In OneClick, expand Network Configuration Manager-> <Device Familiy>, and select the Information tab.
2. Expand Device Configuration Transfer Settings->Write Startup Configuration Script
3. Select the correct Write Startup Script, and make sure is using SSH and not Telnet. If this is a custom Family, you may need to modify the script.
