Datacom IPC Ideal

Issue/Introduction

We are planning to upgrade our Datacom IPC, Ideal, and CICS Services components soon.

Are there any special tips or processes we need if we have a problem?

Environment

Component : IPC

Component : Ideal

Component : Datacom CICS Services

Resolution

In the event that you need assistance with your upgrade on the weekend, please call in and ask that your case be escalated to a Severity 1, and that the on call engineer be contacted.

Also, if you have a problem, please be sure to:

  1. Attach any failing job outputs or CICS error screens (as .txt files).
  2. Attach the output of the related Datacom MUF
  3. If the problem is online:
    1. Issue transaction DBOC INQ=GENOPTS and capture the output into a .txt file.
    2. Go into Ideal and issue @I$INTERNAL STATUS, and capture that output into a .txt file.
    3. Attach both of these .txt files to the case.
  4. If the problem is online, attach the output of the CICS region.

Please be sure you have also reviewed Knowledge Base article 214550, titled "After upgrade to IPC 15.1 PSS output destinations missing" (note the process to use your existing printer and options definitions, and the reference to the IPC 15.1 README). If there is a problem with the options or printers, we might need to see the screen outputs mentioned.
