Modify component from Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) installer package

Steps to modify the component from SEP package.

Open SEPM.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Click on Install Packages.
  2. Click on "Client Install Feature Set".
  3. Right click and create a new feature set.
  4. Uncheck the component which needs to be excluded.


Using the created installed feature set using auto upgrade.

  1. Navigate to SEPM > Clients > Install Packages.
  2. Right Click > Add > Uncheck "maintain existing clients feature when updating".
  3. From the drop down select the newly created feature set.

  4. Choose the other options as required and click on OK.

When the client receive the policy it will accept same version package with modified components and will add or remove the components as per the selection.
