Issue/Introduction

PDSMAN is stripping or nullifying its statistics causing BMC/COPE jobs to fail on several different functions.  BMC/COPE is failing while invoking ISPF service LMMLIST because the PDS LMMLIST is reading seems to have its statistics stripped or nullified somehow, causing COPE to bomb on several different functions.  When we create a PDS and copy members to it using //FCOPYOFF DD DUMMY to turn off PDSMAN, we don’t seem to have any issues in BMC/COPE reading from that PDS (when invoking LMMLIST).

Environment

Release : 7.7

Component : PDSMAN for OS/390

Resolution

BMC will create a PTF for the COPE product for this issue. If you experience this issue please contact BMC directly.

The ISPF services utility LMMLIST works fine outside of BMC/COPE with a REXX exec. If you review the PDS the statistics are there and accurate. BMC/COPE is having a problem with the statistics being provided if PDSM is updating the statistics in fields that may be blank normally.
