Updating from Build 212 to 217 yielded and empty Web Viewer directory - 12.1 Web Viewer is down

Issue/Introduction

Web Viewer version 12.1 updating from Build 212 to 217 (In Test/Pre-Prod).

Initial attempt gave a successful message when updated to Build 217. However, there are issues in the CA Viewer Infrastructure. Files are missing. Web Viewer folder empty. Application won't come up, can't revert back to 212 and 217 will no longer install/update.

Cause

An apparent bad WAR file deployment.

Resolution

After determining that the update was actually successful and that the Build 217 WAR files were installed, stopping Tomcat, deleting the CAOMWebViewer12 directory under webapps, and then restarting Tomcat, resolved the problem.

Additional Information

For whatever reason, the update to Build 217 was successful, but the Web Viewer WAR files failed to deploy. Manually forcing their deployment resolved the issue.
