Issue/Introduction

Siteminder web agent version 12.52.111.2820 can not uninstall on Windows Platform.

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.  Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

You can try this from either control panel or C:\Program Files\CA\webagent\win64\install_config_info\ca-wa-uninstall\uninstall.exe

You will get the same error:

Component : SITEMINDER -WEB AGENT FOR IIS

Cause

The uninstaller JRE shipped with CR11 agent does not initialize.

CR11 agent uses OpenJDK 64-Bit Server JVM 11, while previous agents all use Oracle JDK 1.8

Resolution

Here is the work around.

Please rename the folder "ext" to some other name like "ext1" under "~\Program Files\CA\webagent\win64\install_config_info\install_config_jre\lib" and try the uninstall again.

Support has checked the same step in lab setup and observed that the uninstaller launcher started successfully.

The code will be fixed in next web agent release.
