Issue/Introduction

The Primary DE server failed over.  Tracelog shows the following messages

2021XXXX 00:00:12.345 [relationaldatabase] [ERROR] DM.dm-timer-pop: [2021-xx-xx_00:00:12.345] Database Connection is NOT Valid. Removing from pool
java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: IO Error: Connection reset by peer
at oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CPreparedStatement.executeForDescribe(T4CPreparedStatement.java:821)

Component : CA DSERIES WORKLOAD AUTOMATION HIGH AVAILABILITY

Cause

The ESP dSeries (DE) server got a connection reset from the Database.  This will result in Primary shutting down.  If DE has high availability (HA) enabled, then Standby will take over.

Resolution

Check if there is network issue between DE and Database.  Check if there is an issue with the database
