How to change subject distinguished name

Issue/Introduction

How do you change a subject distinguished name , this certiifcate is used for zosmf , its name is DEFOSMFC and the IP address for the TCPIP stack has changed.

 

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : CA Top Secret for z/OS

Resolution

 You can not change the subject distinguished name once the certificate is created.

If you could change the subject distinguished name, then you would be changing the certificate data.

The solution is to generate a new certificate with the subject distinguished name the way it is required.

The fields that you can change on a certificate are not kept on the certificate
e.g
like TRUST status, certificate label, owner, digicertname, etc…which is why you can change them. 
Making the change doesn’t affect the actual certificate data.
