Issue/Introduction

Getting this message: Txpi 310: TxpiSSLConfig Syntax error Element nb: 1 Section = <SSL_OPTION> Parameter = <INITIATE_SIDE> when trying to send a file.

Environment

Release: CA XCOM for iSeries (AS/400)

Component: xcas4r

SSL

Cause

This message indicates a configuration error in setting up CA XCOM for SSL Transfers. It usually indicates that the CONFIGSSL parameter is not set correctly.  The CONFIGSSL parameter specifies the location of the configssl.cnf file. With this parameter, you need to specify the entire path including the filename. In particular, if you specify only the directory the configssl.cnf file is in, you will get this message.

Resolution

Review and update that the full path for the CONFIGSSL is specified in all these places:

  • In the CA XCOM remote system (commands ADDRMTSYS, CHGRMTSYS)
  • In the CONFIGSSL parameter (commands SENDFILE, GETFILE, etc.)

The default path for the configssl.cnf for CA XCOM i5/OS is:
CONFIGSSL=/QOpenSys/CAProduct/ConfigFile/CAXCOM/config/configssl.cnf
