Issue/Introduction

You may see the following WARN message in DSA warning log and wonder what it means.

WARN: Abandon: Not allowed on updates

Environment

Release : 14.1

Component : CA Directory

Resolution

The above message is logged if LDAP client initiates an abort request to its previous update request. No action would be performed on abort request. You need to find out why LDAP abort was given from the application. We feel that, this could be some corner case where the application was aborting the current transaction.

It could be related to network too. Meaning it could be that the network between application and router (assuming you are connecting to router first) is lost for a while and at that time application issued abort before reestablishing the session (connection reset).
