Issue/Introduction

We just made changes to the Datacom External Security definitions for DBUTLTY, using the resource class DTU in ACF2, DTUTIL in Top Secret (TSS), or DT@TIL in RACF.

Do we need to issue the Datacom SECURITY RESET or SECURITY OPTION=RESET command to activate it?

Environment

Component : Datacom/AD

Component : Datacom/DB

Resolution

The Security reset function only applies to the entries changed in DCT (ACF2), DCTABLE (TSS), or DC@ABLE (RACF) resource classes, or whichever class is used on the MUF Startup Option called SECURITY. A change for DBUTLTY security does not need the RESET processing; however, if the DBUTLTY class (DTU/DTUTIL/DT@TIL) is created new, the MUF will need to be recycled to support this new class.
