CA Performance Management (CAPM) Data aggregator (DA) service will not start.

Issue/Introduction

Unable to start dadaemon services with the following message shown:

Redirecting to /bin/systemctl start dadaemon.service
Job for dadaemon.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status dadaemon.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details

Environment

DX NetOps CAPM 20.2 or later

Cause

OS patching happened without stopping any services

Resolution

1. Login to the DA command line as the root or install user.
   
   
2. Go to the apache-karat directory. By default, this is:
   
   

   cd /opt/IMDataAggregator/apache-karaf-<VERSION>/

   
   For example:
   
   

   cd /opt/CA//IMDataAggregator/apache-karaf-2.4.3/
   
   

3. Then, move the data directory:
   

   
   mv data data.orig
   
   

4. Start the dadaemon service:
   
   

   systemctl start dadaemon
