WSS agent users connecting from Pakistan experiencing performance issues

Issue/Introduction

WSS agent users located in Pakistan accessing WSS via Dubai without problems

With the planned decommissioning of our Dubai Data center (GAEDX1) and move to Abu Dhabi (GAEAD1), users in Pakistan connecting to GAEAD1 were experiencing very poor performance and throughout

User browsing would see slow rendering of Web sites, and occasional connection related error messages on browser

Overriding the default CTC settings and going to Dubai GAEDX1 would resolve the issue

Cause

Traffic between Pakistani users and WSS throttled by certain telco providers

Resolution

A new GPKIS1 location has been created to address issue

Users connecting to WSS via the WSS agent are now sent to GPKIS1, avoiding throttling experienced previously

Make sure that the GPKIS1 data center is reported when connecting to http://pod.threatpulse.com - WSS agent 7.4.2+ is required to display the correct site.
