Gen client application trace not visible in Diagram Trace Utility (DTU)

Issue/Introduction

When try to trace Gen GUI client application using DTU, it's not showing the trace. Tried deleting 'configuration' and 'workspace' folders from "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\CA\Gen 8.6\cfg\DiagramTrace" folder, but still not working. 

The GUI client application is being run from the "model.ief\c" directory rather than from the Build Tool.
The DTU on the same machine is starting and the DTU window is showing "Listening started, port: 4567". 

Cause

The customer had not updated the application.ini in the generated application directory "model.ief\c" to have the 3 TRACE_ variables enabled/uncommented.

Resolution

After these changes were made to the "model.ief\c\application.ini" file the trace started working:

TRACE_ENABLE=1

;Identifies the IP Address or Hostname where the Diagram Trace Utility has been invoked from.
TRACE_HOST=localhost

;Identifies the port in which the Diagram Trace Utility is listening for connections.
TRACE_PORT=4567
