We're disabling SMBv1 on the last few remaining servers of ours, and one of them uses dirscan to remotely check a fileshare hosted on a file server appliance (Isilon).
If I disable SMBv1, will dirscan function with SMBv2/SMBv3 enabled? Or does dirscan only support SMBv1?
Release : 20.3
Component : UIM - DIRSCAN
SMB is not supported nor tested for dirscan. When there is absolutely no mention of it in the release notes nor techdocs or any KB Articles, that normally means it is not supported and has never been tested. The dirscan probe does not use SMB for network filesystem monitoring. The dirscan probe uses Windows API's to login to another system (by user impersonation method) and gets the details from the remote filesystem.
