Issue/Introduction

We can see a drastic difference between OpenJDK and Oracle JRE

With Oracle JRE 1Gb DRAM was used with each OneClick Client, With OpenJDK 2.7Gb DRAM is being used.

As part of our security practices, we require all OneClick users to go through our Jumpserver.  This increase of ram will impact JumpServers and number of users able to connect

Environment

Release : 10.4.x 21.2.x

Component : Spectrum OneClick

Cause

AdoptOpenJDK is less efficient then Oracle JRE

AdoptOpenJDK team mentions this is because of the launcher Ice Tea Web, however under further testing we saw little to no difference when using OpenWebStart as a launcher.

Resolution

OpenJDK team is unable to fix this, this only really impacts users who use a jumpserver where the resources are shared.

Additional Information

Reported to OpenJDK team here
