Issue/Introduction

The harvester is falling behind, but there are no backlogged files in the ReaperInput directory.

When we check the harvester-wrapper.log file, the "Max Buffer Used Percent" is showing over 90%

Environment

All NFA versions prior to NFA 22.2.5 (ETA January 2023).

Cause

A bug in the NFA Harvester process flow processor cache buffer. This is Defect: DE541581.

Resolution

Please see this document for information on the code fix for this issue: NFA Harvester Buffer Patch

If you cannot upgrade or patch your enviornment:

  1. Stop the "CA NFA Harvester Service" and delete all *.NTA files from the x:\CA\NFA\Netflow\datafiles\HarvesterArchive
Make sure you are deleting the "*.NTA" files (with "T" for "Template") not the "*.NFA" files.
  2. Start the "CA NFA Harvester Service" you stopped in step 1.

If the problem persists, please open a support ticket and attach the CARE file from the harvester.
