Getting this message at login time. 

Requested instance '' was not found at currently connected server.

Cause

URL Issue : Everything that comes after /ca7wai in this case should be removed from the URL.

system.etc.corpname.com:portnr/ca7wai_appl/ca7wai

 

Resolution

When this message is encountered first look at the URL that is used.

This is an example. The URL that caused issues had other text following "/ca7wai".

example : system.etc.corpname.com:portnr/ca7wai_appl/ca7wai/connection_name=xxxxxx

After removing /connection_name=xxxxxx the issue was fixed.
