Issue/Introduction

When LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) attempts to start a download it fails with an error: Failed to execute schedule due to insufficient free space for updates.

Related messages appear in lua-application*.log:
2021-10-13 11:50:10,360 [DownloadTriggerThread93] ERROR download.DownloadManager [] - INSUFFICIENT DISK SPACE: Available free space : temporary directory: 75000, download directory: 352000 and total size of updates: 95050

Cause

The available space for TempDownloads is insufficient for the required download.

Resolution

Options:

  1. Increase available free space on the volume hosting TempDownloads
  2. Move TempDownloads to another location with more space
  3. Split the download schedule into multiple schedules for fewer products to reduce the free space needed at one time
